The Mummy Tag

The mummy tag is a bunch of questions that I try to answer as honestly as possible. I love reading other people’s answers and I suppose I love to find out a little bit more about the Mummy / blogger behind the posts that I read! So lets get to it:

1 ARE YOU A STAY AT HOME MUMMY OR A WORKING MUMMY?
Right now I am on maternity leave but Im lucky enough that I won’t be returning to work once this ends, so I’m a stay at home mummy!

2 WOULD YOU HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY?
I would love to be a work at home Mummy because I would love to be able to make blogging/vlogging not only my hobby but also something that makes enough money for me to live comfortably, this is a long way into future.

3 DO YOU CO-SLEEP?
I do co-sleep and bed-share with my son, in the end he likes the closeness and in order to get some sleep I’ve just let it happen – he has always been an appalling sleeper and I just went with what felt natural. Embarrassingly we now have a double and a single mattress on the floor (so he doesn’t roll our of bed) but this means that gavin, Tobias and I can all sleep together!

4 WHAT IS YOUR ONE MUST-HAVE ITEM FOR YOUR BABY?
There’s so many! I think the bath support has been a big help as trying to hold a baby and wash them is difficult! It makes bath time an enjoyable experience for both parent and child – which is always a plus.

5 HOW MANY KIDS DO YOU PLAN ON HAVING?
I would love to have five, gavin wants two, so I think I may have to compromise. I’m thinking four and then “accidentally” having another!

6 DATE NIGHTS – HOW OFTEN DO YOU HAVE THEM?
Not at all currently, Tobias has always tagged along with us when we go somewhere. It’s a little difficult when I’m breastfeeding but I don’t mind as one doesn’t sign up to have children, so one doesn’t spend time with them!

7 YOUR CHILD’S FAVOURITE TV SHOW?
Tobias is only six months old so he hasn’t got a favourite just yet! However he loves to watch the phonetics song on you tube and he seems to laugh every time Gordon Ramsey is on the television.

8 NAME ONE THING YOU BOUGHT BEFORE YOU HAD THE BABY AND NEVER ENDED UP USING?
Hmm. We bought loads of things that were completely pointless. As a new parent you are susceptible to advertising and want your child to have the best though don’t you? I hope I’ve learned for the next ones, though. A big bug bear of myn was the Moses basket which he grew out of so quickly! Shaun the sheep was another useless buy.

9 YOUR CHILD’S FAVOURITE FOOD.
Milk is the main favourite at the moment, but as we are weaning it’s ever changing from day to day. he currently loves broccoli! Strange child!

10 HOW MANY CARS DOES YOUR FAMILY HAVE?
One – as a farm we gave many vehicles but fir the purpose of being a mother we just upgraded from a Nissan Juke to have a Nissan quashai and by golly it’s made a big difference – there’s do much space!

11 WEIGHT GAIN, BEFORE PREGNANCY, DURING, AFTER AND NOW?
I put on roughly 2 stone and don’t feel like I have even lost half of it. I have to be so much more careful now with what I eat. I just need to look at a cake and I’ve gained half a stone so my metabolism is much different nowadays – sadly!

12 DREAM HOLIDAY WITH YOUR KIDS
Florida for Disneyland, really! But is this not what we all want for our children. I’m looking forward to going to places like centre parcs with him and staying at a zoo.

13 DREAM HOLIDAY WITHOUT YOUR KIDS
I’d really like to go back to our honeymoon destination in Mauritius or go on safari in Africa to see the big cats. We will be waiting a long time before that ever happens though!

14 HOW HAS YOUR LIFE CHANGED SINCE HAVING KIDS?
In all honesty, I suppose the biggest change is always going to be having to put someone else’s needs and desires above your own but honestly, these days it’s second nature. It’s surprising how quickly you become adapted. The first few months of having a newborn are hard as you try to work out a structure that works for the whole household – it does get easier (thankfully)!

15 FINISH THE SENTENCE “IT MAKES MY HEART MELT WHEN…”
He reaches another milestone, every day he turns into a little boy and my baby is disappearing in front of my eyes. He just needs to smile at me and I go all mushy inside.

16 WHERE DO YOU SHOP FOR YOUR KIDS?
Marks and Spencer is a favourite. But depending on what I need I will go into different stores. For nicer wear we can usually find something in M&S and Next. For everyday vests and socks would be primark or H&M.

17 FAVOURITE MAKE-UP AND SKINCARE PRODUCTS?
I’m quite a low maintenance girl in terms of products but my go-to skincare regime consists of Simple Face Wash, cleanser, exfoliator, clarifying tonic and then followed by a night gel or a day cream. Makeup – I’m a big fan of the Rimmel Wake Me Up range and anything from Bobbi brown or Clinique!

18 HUGGIES OR PAMPERS?
Pampers al the way. I haven’t had many leaks with them (I say me, I mean Tobias). I like to buy in bulk to save on costs, so I’m always keeping an eye out for offers coming up.

19 HAVE YOU ALWAYS WANTED KIDS?
Yes. I used to always play pretend that I had a huge family when I was in primary school. I’ve had their names lined up since I was in high school and I always used to say they will be born boy, girl, boy, girl, boy! Who knows – I’ll love them reglardless!

20 BEST PART OF BEING A MUMMY?
Creating your own little tribe. It’s such an incredible feeling having your own babies and trying to figure out who they look more like and watching them develop into their own person – it’s a privilege really!

And that’s it – all of the questions answered!

Much love
Rebecca
