Xmas and New Year 2019

1F812E49-E30B-41BA-9424-1164AC09C9EFThis Christmas was very different to last year, surprise, surprise! Tobias was a year old last year.  But this year we have two children, a two year old and a six month old.  I still get the feelings no that Tobias has no clue what’s going on but he loved opening the presents and seeing wha5 was inside- so much so he even opened all of Hamish’s too!

We celebrated Christmas with friends and family and the day seemed to fly by! On Christmas Eve, Tobias went out for the day with his grandad and nana whilst we took hamish round the family to see everyone!  In the evening  we opened their Christmas Eve boxes.  We started Christmas Day by waiting for Gavin to come in from jobs on the farm and then we all opened our stockings.  We then got dressed and went to the local church, where both boys behaved throughout the whole service and both came up with me during the communion, where they were blessed.

We then went to my Grandmothers house where we met up with my Mother, brother and the rest of my side of the family. We were given a huge spread of food for our lunch, which consisted of a turkey dinner and all of the trimmings. It then came time for opening presents, but of course Hamish thought it would be the appropriate time to want to sleep! I seem to recall this is what Tobias has done for the last two years! We received some lovely and unique presents!

Before we knew it, it was time to go home as Gavin had to complete the evening farm chores. When he came back in from work, we then went round to Gavin’s family home, where the whole of his family get together. We had our second turkey dinner closely followed by the opening of presents with his side of the family.  On Boxing Day we had quite a chilled day opening the Father Christmas presents and playing with all the toys.  This year Gavin’s mother did a pancake breakfast for the family, which was fab!  I seemed to spend the afternoon tidying the house!

In between Christmas and New Year we went to visit Gavin’s sisters (Aunty Ninny) new home in Bradford.  We met up with my father, did a little shopping and we also want on a family walk in the dales!

On New Years Eve evening, after Gavin had finished his jobs on the farm, we went around to Gavin’s parents house who were hosting a party. By the time we had eaten and all the guests had arrived both boys were ready for bedtime,  both fell asleep straight away but I was tired from the weeks adventures so went to bed before midnight.  On New Year’s Day we went to my mothers for lunch.  She put on a full Sunday style dinner  and both boys got even more presents!

Next year will be an even more different Christmas for us, Tobias will be three years old and should have more of an understanding of what’s going on. Hamish will be walking about (i hope) and causing mischief, no doubt!  I’m really looking forward to seeing how they both change over the next year and what Hamish’s  personality will become. I hope each and every one of you managed to enjoy your Christmas and from my family to yours we wish you a fantastic 2019.  I know this year will be one of the best for me and my family!

Much love
Rebecca
