Christmas Plans

A91B5FEA-6985-4DC9-8AB3-C8E2FF490298So last year I attempted 24 days of Christmas, I achieved something/ an activity for the boys, each day for the lead up to Christmas Day.  It helped Tobias understand what was coming and I’m planning on doing it again this year.  Some days it’s only a small activity, due to nursery days etc.   Here’s what I plan to do, but I don’t have set days for them:

Watch a Christmas film
Write Santa’s letter
Go Christmas shopping
Do a gold coin hunt
Read a Christmas story
Make a Christmas decoration
Make mince pies
See some Christmas lights
Buy the tree and decorate the house
Build a gingerbread house
Bake cookies
Go on a winter walk
Go to a farm experience
See a nativity
Have a hot chocolate
Make snowflakes
Sing some carols
Decorate a Christmas cake
Go on a treasure hunt
Go to tong garden winter experience
Go on an elf hunt
Visit embassy Christmas train
Make a cracker
Open Christmas eve box

When the actual festivities are upon us this is what we normally do:

As always we celebrate the holiday period with our friends and family.  On Christmas Day itself, we usually start the day with opening stockings, getting dressed for the day and enjoying breakfast together.  We will then venture to church to meet up with some of my long time friends.  We enjoy the Christmas service as a family and try to all get blessed during communion.

We then head over to my Grandmothers house where we meet up with my Mother and her side of the family. We enjoy a full Christmas lunch, which consists of a three course meal, including turkey dinner and all of the trimmings. We then open all of the presents, from my side of the family, together and before we know it, time seems to have flown by and it’s then time to come home as Gavin needs to complete the nightly farm jobs.  When he comes back in we then have our second turkey dinner closely followed by the opening of presents with his side of the family.

On Boxing Day we open all of the Father Christmas presents and try to have a quiet day at home whilst the boys play with all the new toys and watch films.  We will be visiting my father between Christmas and a New a Year and we also want to get a family walk in somewhere!

On New Years Eve, Gavin’s family will be hosting a party with lots of family and friends who come over and then on New Years Day my Mother is cooking up a feast for us all to enjoy at her house.

By the end of the festive period I’m about ready for a holiday!  Or maybe just getting back to normality!  But this year, the Christmas decorations will be coming down on the 5th January 2020 and the baby items will be coming out, in anticipation for the new arrival!

Much love
Rebecca
