New Years Resolutions

I have never been the kind of person to make new years resolutions as I can’t stick to them, life just gets in the way somehow! However this year, I have set some goals which I hope will keep me focused in my day to day life. The goals I wish to achieve are not necessarily resolutions but positive life changes which I plan to incorporate into every day until hopefully they become second nature.

I wont be making the normal “I want to lose 15 stone in 2017” or “I plan on healthy eating” which is just impossible for me! Saying this however I am going to monitor my water intake and food consumption. This is so I can keep my levels up for breastfeeding purposes. water

I have put together my aims and aspirations for this year below – I’m going to call them my life goals.  This is so in case I don’t achieve them this year, I can move them forward into 2018 and beyond!

1. I would like to go on “date nights” with Gavin to make time for ourselves and to make sure we keep our relationship together. Now that we have Tobias, I am soon realising that one can forget their own identity and lose track of many things in life, therefore I feel this is a necessity. I don’t want to say that this is going to a be a weekly or even a monthly thing, but a night out once in a while would be something to look forward to. This is something, I will definitely be striving for this year.eat

2.I would like to get out into the countryside more, such as going for walks or exploring new places we haven’t been before. This can be hard, especially when the weather is bad (90% of the time in the Yorkshire Dales).  But the benefits from just getting out and about and to breathe in fresh air can certainly make you re-evaluate your life, calm you down and I also think it helps you sleep better.countryside-walks

3.I would like to get away this year with my family. Whether it is in the UK somewhere or abroad, just time spent together away from the distractions of normal daily life and working is what is needed for everybody once in a while.  However, I don’t know how I feel about taking a baby on a plane journey (too much like hard work if you ask me).airplane_smoke

4.I hope to get Tobias in a routine this year as I do want to get back to enjoying sleep.  At the moment I seem to go to bed late and wake up early, resulting in me feeling grumpy and sluggish all the time. I guess this is all around my organisation such as sorting out my whole life, including meal planning, scheduling, outfits, jobs to do that day and cleaning.clair-de-lune-marshmallow-dark-wicker-moses-basket-white-0

5.Finally, I would like to grow my blog spot and make more of an effort to get good content out there, that people would like to read. My aim for this year is to be on a top blogger list. I would really like to get on “The Harrogate Girl” blog list as she is based in the same area of the country as me and her recommendations would mean a great deal.cedb2c2e332d414d6d6d6d82d3be992fMuch love
